About Lebanon
- LOCATION –
Lebanon is a small country (about the size of the large island of Hawaii) bordered by Syria, Israel, & the Mediterranean Sea.
- HISTORY & PEOPLE -
The land has endured much war throughout the ages, most recently a 15 year civil war (1975-1990) where 150,000 people died. Currently, about 4 million people live in Lebanon, nearly 40% of them in the capital city of Beirut. The population is 60% Muslim and 40% non-Muslim. Arabic is the official language, although most Lebanese also speak either French or English. 
- CURRENT ISSUES -
